Two individuals, a company and a university were the four winners today of the National Award to the Colombian Inventor, an initiative of the Superintendence of Industry and Commerce (SIC) that seeks to promote creativity, science and imagination in Colombians.
The event was attended by Superintendent Andres Barreto, who highlighted the 152 applications submitted for the tenth edition of the award, the great creativity of the candidates, as well as the wide participation from almost all parts of the country.
The winners in each of the outstanding categories of the 2020 National Colombian Inventor Award were:
Winner Youth Category:
Institución Educativa Comercial de Envigado with their invention: anti-mine robotic legs, represented by teacher Alexander Echeverry.
Winner Individual Researcher Category:
Alejandro Vargas Gutiérrez with his invention: 180° Robot.
Winner Industry Category:
PROTRAFFIC SAS with his invention: HELMY - Safety system and method for vehicles and vehicle users, represented by Mario Varón.
Winner Research Category:
Universidad Autónoma de Occidente with its invention: photosensitizing biomaterial and special bone regenerator for bone cancer treatment, represented by researcher Clara Goyes.
