The Superintendence of Industry and Commerce (SIC), as National Authority for the Protection of Users Communications Services, imposed on ETB (EMPRESA DE TELECOMUNICACIONES DE BOGOTÁ), a fine of $245,000,000 COP (USD $61.000), for having breached the users’ rights to lodge petitions, complaints, claims and appeals:
Within the framework of the investigation, it was verified that, in two (2) complaints cases, the sanctioned operator company incurred in the omission of the duty to attend and answer the request from users, within the legal timeframe and in an integral manner.
This behavior triggers the positive administrative silence and, therefore, administrative orders were issued to the operator, forcing to favorably respond the requests that were subject of investigation.
